Kids, teens & adults

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Liberty Hill

BJJ is the martial art that works when size and strength are not on your side, which is exactly why it works for kids, for women, and for every adult who was never the biggest person in the room. We run three BJJ tracks: Kids BJJ, Family BJJ (ages 7+ with a parent), and Teen & Adult BJJ.

Why families choose it

What your family gets out of it

  • Leverage over strength

Jiu-jitsu is built on position and leverage, so smaller students learn to control and escape from bigger partners. It is the most honest confidence a kid can earn.

  • Live training, safely

Rolling (BJJ sparring) is introduced progressively with strict mat rules. You learn what actually works because you practice against real resistance.

  • The long game

BJJ is famously a lifetime art. Adults train into their 60s, and the belt journey rewards patience over athleticism.

Straight answers

Questions parents ask us

Is BJJ safe for kids?

Kids BJJ is grappling only, no strikes, with instructors controlling intensity and matched partner sizes. It is one of the safest ways for kids to learn real self-defense.

What is the difference between Kids BJJ, Family BJJ, and Teen & Adult BJJ?

Kids BJJ is for children training with peers. Family BJJ is ages 7+ with a parent on the mat together. Teen & Adult BJJ is the evening class for ages 13 and up. Many families mix and match depending on their schedule.

Gi or no-gi?

Classes train in the gi to build fundamentals. Ask at your tour about current no-gi options.

I have zero grappling experience. How do I start?

Every BJJ student starts with fundamentals classes covering positions, escapes, and etiquette. Nobody is thrown into live rolling on day one.
